Maybe hold off on buying that iPhone for Christmas – Apple’s about to bring out a new, cheaper one, and a new Apple Watch too.
Apple insiders told 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman that there will be an Apple event in March – at which a new Watch and a new phone will be shown off.
Rumour has it the new Watch will have a camera – and the ability to go online without a phone on Wi-Fi.
Respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities predicted last week that Apple would also launch a new phone – a cheaper model with a coloured metal casing.
It will be similar to the iPhone 5S, but with more up-to-date chips – but without the hi-tech new ‘3D Touch’ screen found in the iPhone 6S.
The new phone will have an A9 chip, and offer functions such as Apple Pay – but will have the same lower-end 8-megapixel camera as the iPhone 5S.
