Prince William Jokes He’ll Get No Sleep on Christmas Eve Because of Prince George

Royal couple, Prince William opened up about his family’s plans for the upcoming Christmas holiday in a recent interview, and admitted that he and his wife, Kate Middleton, are anticipating a sleepless Christmas Eve.

“George will be bouncing around like a rabbit,” he told the UK’s The Big Issue magazine. “If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve, it’ll be good.”

Part of the reason why little George, 2, will be particularly excited this year is that he’s finally “worked out what Christmas is all about.”

“We’ll watch George try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them,” William, 33, added. “It’s a very different experience at Christmas, having a family of your own. It’d be nice if we got a white Christmas because we haven’t had one in many years.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also planning on attending church on Christmas Day “as we always do,” he said.

Williams’ candid interview with The Big Issue holds particular significance this holiday season — the royal was interviewed by burgeoning journalist Sophia Kichou, 24, who was promised the opportunity for the chat four years ago when she first met William, as a homeless youth. Asked about what the holidays will be like now that the royal family is four — Middleton and William welcomed daughter Charlotte in May — the prince said he’s not sure, but that he feels up for the task.

“So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging,” he said. “But I’m looking forward to it.”
