Oscar Pistorius granted bail R10,000

Oscar Pistorius has been granted bail, after he appeared in court on Tuesday.
Judge Aubrey Ledwaba said Pistorius has proved he is not a flight risk.

This comes after South Africa’s Supreme Court of Appeal, found him guilty of murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, only last week

Pistorius’ lawyers have already confirmed they will appeal that decision to the Constitutional Court and that their client should remain free on bail while they do so.

The hearing before the Constitutional Court could take months.

The Prosecution claimed on Tuesday, that Pistorius may escape to Mozambique or Italy.

“We feel strongly about the fact that he needs monitoring, and should not leave the house at any time,” state prosecutor Gerri Nel said

The paralympic gold medalist, was allowed to leave prison in October, after serving one year of his original five-year term in house detention.

He is due to return to court April 18,2016.
