Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state has ordered the immediate payment of 2015 leave bonus to all categories of Civil servants in the state.
Information Commissioner Kayode Akinmade said in a statement issued in Akure
Akinmade said that the Governor ordered that both workers in the state civil service as well as those at the local government must be paid their leave bonus immediately.
The order according to him” is in line with the Caring Heart nature of the Dr Olusegun Mimiko led government in the state.
Akinmade pointed out that the instruction became imperative as a result of the governor’s determination to ensure that workers in the state experience a memorable Yuletide with their families.
“The state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko this morning ordered the immediate payment of leave bonuses to all civil servants in the state including those serving at the local government level.
“The decision is in line with the Governor’s determination to further demonstrate that the welfare of workers in the state is of great importance to the government” the statement read in part.
The Commissioner said that the government had ensured that workers in the state are still able to maintain a reasonable standard of life despite the harsh economic climate being experienced in the country at the moment.
He said that the state still pay above the required minimum wage in the country, insisting that government is determined to ensure that workers in the state continue to enjoy good life despite the crushing economic situation in the country.
Akinmade said that everything will be done to ensure that government programmes which cater for the generality of residents in the state continue and even enhanced, with the welfare of civil servants unaffected.
He appealed to the people to promptly pay their tax, government said the new year will see it do more in the area of infrastructure provision and maintenance.
